And I fondly remembered my life there. The people, my job as the store manager for the Borders Express aka Waldenbooks at the Lahaina Cannery Mall, which closed down in January 2009 thanks to the economy and Barnes and Noble, and all my former customers and co-workers. I really miss that Aloha spirit. People here are just plain mean and nasty. We have weathered our first winter here in Central Cali. Not bad, but my 6 year old kept asking why God was forgetting to turn on the heat! She misses Hawaii as badly as I do. All my kids, who were all born and raised there, miss the beaches, their friends, and the balmy winters! Take care Lahaina! We will be back!! Mahalo Nui Loa and Aloha!!!
