Koa to perform Oct. 24 at the Baldwin Home Museum

October 18, 2019
Lahaina News

LAHAINA - On Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., enjoy the free Hawaiian Music Series featuring Koa on the front lawn of the Baldwin Home Museum at the corner of Front and Dickenson streets in Lahaina. Now, in its 11th consecutive year, the monthly Hawaiian Music Series is a popular event and wonderful way to spend a warm evening in Lahaina.

Allen Koa, 'Aiau Koa, Mark Vaught and Richard Bissen comprise the group, Koa.

Although the four musicians come from diverse musical backgrounds, they are all passionate about one thing: Hawaiian music. The common thread that brought these friends together was their passion for the songs of old Hawaii and the challenge of achieving that traditional sound revered by their parents. Whether playing smooth melodies or striking harmonies on guitar, bass and ukulele, the members of Koa love to engage in old-time Hawaiian music. They perform together around the island.

A paid parking lot is located behind the venue with access from Dickenson Street. Parking fees from the lot are used by Lahaina Restoration Foundation to maintain and preserve the many historic sites in Lahaina.
