KAHULUI - The newly organized Maui Police Foundation will host a community fundraiser and celebration at Cafe O' Lei at the Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tickets and sponsorships are on sale; visit or call (808) 495-8067.

The foundation is a nonprofit working to enhance public safety and develop stronger relationships between the community and MPD. To meet their mission, they intend to supplement Maui County Police Department funding for special programs, equipment, training and youth outreach.

Board President Paulette Ramsay Wood said, "The Maui Police Foundation is making a difference in the lives of Maui County citizens, and we are encouraged by the enthusiasm of our community and local businesses. A big mahalo to all who join with us to celebrate this grassroots effort."
