Ekolu Lindsey to speak at Rotary meeting

September 13, 2018
Lahaina News

KAANAPALI - Ekolu Lindsey will be the speaker at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The meeting will be held at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant at the Royal Lahaina Resort from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Lindsey is the president of Maui Cultural Lands Inc. (MCL), a Maui-based grassroots land trust organization whose mission is to stabilize, protect and restore Hawaiian cultural resources.

MCL was established as a nonprofit organization in February of 2002 and is one of only a few land trust organizations on Maui targeting Hawaiian cultural lands along the coast and inland areas.

In 2012, Lindsey spoke about protecting and restoring Hawaiian cultural resources as part of the prestigious TEDx talks. Hundreds of audience members were captivated and inspired by his words and by his strong likeness to his father, the founder of the organization.

The public is invited to hear his presentation at the Sept. 18 meeting. For more information about the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset, contact President Heidi Dollinger at Heidi.LahainaSunset@gmail.com or 359-4245.
