KAANAPALI - Eliot Gouveia and Eric Dugas held their first round lead and fired a 63 (-8) on June 10 to win the 2018 Kaanapali Classic Pro-Pro title and take home the $2,200 champions' purse with a 60-63-123 (-19) score.

Kevin Carll and Kevin Hayashi gave Dugas and Eliot a run for their money, posting a low round of 59 (-12) that day to bump them into second place at 68-59-127, earning $1,600.

This is Gouveia and Dugas' fourth event playing together.

Gouveia commented on the event, "We knew we had to make a lot of birdies this weekend and play aggressive."

He continued, "With the winds low, we knew there would be some low scores out there, and we had to capitalize on every birdie opportunity we had - we couldn't have any bogeys on our card, and we didn't both days."

"Both days, we got off to a great start, and then in the middle hit sort of a plateau. We thought that especially today, we needed to finish strong. Eric was able to birdie both 17 and 18 today; he played exceptionally the last two holes, which made my job easy," Gouveia laughed.

2017 Kaanapali Classic Pro-Pro Champions TJ Kua and Todd Rego finished 63-66-129, taking home $1,200 for third place.

Brothers Chris and Kevin Shimomura came in fourth at 68-62-130, and the team of Kyle Hayashi and Jake Grodzinsky finished 65-66-131 for fifth place.
