Stage compositions will include "Abstract Paintings No. 1" by Shinhee Park of Seoul, Korea. Short piano pieces will be combined with slide projections of art by Maui artists Martha Woodbury and Linda Whittemore.

Live music and video to poems by Jim Loomis (Haiku) from his book, "Tales and Flukes from Life in the Trees," will enhance the recitation of this poetry.

Plato's "allegory of the cave" will receive an interpretation through stage composition with colored lights, shadow puppets and music.

"Triple Play on Words" explores homophones in sound, sight and motion.

E&FA's multimedia group is comprised of Francis Kane, Tony Walholm, Lisa Buell, John Zangrando, Paul Marchetti, Danny M., Peter Swanzy and Robert Pollock.

"After a three-year hiatus, E&FA's multimedia group reconvenes, now older and wiser," said E&FA Director Pollock.

"We are delighted to involve many of Maui's gifted artists."

Special funding support is provided by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.

These events are part of E&FA's annual, multi-day, multi-site, international NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST FESTIVAL 2018. The festival is produced, in part, with support from Aaron Copland Fund for Music, AHS Foundation, John R. Halligan Charitable Fund, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Roger Shapiro Fund for New Music, Edward T. Cone Foundation, BMI Foundation, Kosasa Family Foundation (ABC Stores), Mayor Arakawa Community Kokua Fund, Vendetti Productions LLC, and private contributions.

Ebb & Flow Arts Inc. is a nonprofit presenter of modern music and multimedia events. The only such presenter in Hawaii, it was founded in 1999 by composer/pianist Pollock.

It aims to build bridges between the arts and connect artistic expressions and cultures. E&FA creates a global soundboard and mirror for music and art in Hawaii. It also teaches children how to read and write music with "Scaling Haleakala," an original curriculum.
