People make the West Maui community great

WEST MAUI - Last week I turned the action-packed age of 34! Leading up to my birthday, there were so many things going on I almost forgot it was coming. But as I write this and reflect on the past 34 chapters of my life, I've come to realize how blessed I am to be a part of this wonderful community we call the West Side.

Being born on Maui, with three generations of roots established before me, I am humbly and amazingly grateful to call the community of the West Side of Maui my home. The saying of extended 'ohana can only be truly understood by those who have experienced it firsthand. Everyone in the community are Uncles and Aunties to me, and now after 34 years of starting my own roots on the West Side, I've become an Uncle to many. It's an honor that I am blessed to have - to keep the tradition of extended 'ohana alive.

I've seen the West Side and the island of Maui grow in many different ways. But the thing that makes me smile each and everyday is that our community is still the same as it was when I was a small boy. Yes, cars are fancier, new homes are bigger and a lot flashier, everyone is on their cell phones, and the roads are much more congested (I won't even start about that). But it's the people that make our community great. People still have the time to genuinely say hello to each other and ask how they are doing, and how their 'ohana are doing.

I pride myself in trying to grow our community by supporting and doing everything I can to keep our local families here. As we all know, making that transition from renter to homeowner is a very scary and tough step. I've helped my clients in the community deal with distressed properties, buying and selling of condos and single-family homes. I've learned a lot in my short time as a real estate professional, and I'm ready to go above and beyond to make sure I am doing everything I can to help support our local families by finding them a place to keep their roots growing.

I am excited to introduce my friend and new representative of Platinum Properties Hawaii, LLC, Juan Stinson. With Juan being grounded in the Upcountry area, we now have a great Real Estate Professional in the Upcountry area. We are looking to reach out to our local families, in communities across the island, to provide the knowledge and assistance in order to keep our local families here by helping them obtain a place where they can plant their roots.

Please feel free to reach out to either Juan Stinson ( or myself, Ryan Michimoto (, with any questions or inquires that we may be able to assist you with.
