Lahaina News to be mailed with the Maui Wrap

LAHAINA - Adding value to both publications, the Lahaina News and Maui Wrap will be mailed together starting the first week of July 2017.

With a more than 37-year history, Lahaina News is West Maui's award-winning weekly community newspaper. In celebration of the 2017 Summer Reading Program, Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band will perform at Lahaina Public Library on Thursday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. The program is suitable for toddlers to age eight. In the “Story of the Ukulele and Concert” on July 1 at noon, The Hawaiian Serenaders (above), Richard Tom and Mele Fong, will share information about the ukulele, Hawaii’s official instrument. This free 45-minute program is suitable for all ages. For both events, young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. Lahaina Public Library is located at 680 Wharf St. near Lahaina Harbor; call 662-3950 for information.

There will be no change in delivery of Lahaina News for the thousands of West Maui residents that subscribe to The Maui News and use Post Office boxes.

Beginning on July 5, 2017, West Maui residents that currently get the Maui Wrap will receive the Lahaina News inside. The cover of the Maui Wrap will be changed to note that the Lahaina News is inserted.

The move will save both publications money in postage and distribution. Currently, the Lahaina News and Maui Wrap are both delivered to the Lahaina Post Office along Honoapiilani Highway on Tuesdays and sent out in separate mailings.
