Jeff Bridges, the Oscar-winning international movie star known for his numerous films such as “The Big Lebowski,” “Crazy Heart” and a list of starring movie roles too numerous to mention, will perform an intimate appearance at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa on Jan. 23.

KAANAPALI – Mental Health Kokua (MHK) will partner with the Maui Celebrity Series at the Jeff Bridges event on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.

A portion of proceeds will contribute to furnish housing for homeless adults as part of MHK’s program to end homelessness in Hawaii.

The 8 p.m. event will feature Bridges and series host Brian Evans.

“We are grateful for Bridges’ involvement to help end homelessness in Hawaii,” said Greg Payton, CEO of Mental Health Kokua.

“The collaboration between the Maui Celebrity Series and MHK,” said Evans, producer of the series, “is to help homeless individuals live proud and productive lives. It’s my way of giving back to our community.”

MHK will also host a Jeff Bridges autographed movie memorabilia auction at the Jan. 23 event, including a raffle in which five lucky individuals will have a once-in-a-lifetime chance for a meet-and-greet opportunity with Bridges himself. Tickets are available at www.honoluluboxoffice.com.

MHK was founded in 1973 as a nonprofit Hawaii corporation, specifically to assist persons recovering from serious mental illness in achieving their optimum level of independent living in the community.

At MHK, services include housing, case management, psychosocial rehabilitation, psychiatry and counseling.
