LAHAINA – Sponsored in part by the County of Maui and licensed by Music Theatre International, Theatre Theatre Maui is proud to announce its upcoming Westside Youth Theatre Camp performance of “Bugsy Malone Jr.,” which will be performed on the Lahaina Intermediate School Cafeteria stage on Friday and Saturday, July 18-19, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 20, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, available at the door.

TTM’s campers have been working hard all summer learning lines, songs and new dances for the show.

Based on the hit 1976 film and featuring a catchy, swinging score by the composer of “The Muppet Movie,” “Bugsy Malone Jr.” is good, clean, comedic fun!

Two gangs, comprised completely of children, in a fictitious city, comprised completely of children, are in a 1920s rivalry of “Capone-ian” standards.

The unique part of Theatre Theatre Maui is that the campers get to stick their “jazz hands” into almost every aspect of camp.

This year, many of the props have been made with paper mache, and the kids helped create, paint and decorate the pieces alongside TTM’s creative team and volunteers. Many of the props and set pieces are made from recycled material.

Come check out the show and support West Side youth! For further information, contact Angie Thompson, executive director of Theatre Theatre Maui, at (808) 214-7443.
