The Grown on Maui Farmers’ Market brings together the agricultural communities to highlight the important role they play in Maui’s economy. Here’s an opportunity to meet Chuck and Lily Boerner of Ono Organic Farm. They return to the market with a variety of tropical fruits picked fresh from their organic farm in Kipahulu, Maui.

"Our quarterly farmers' market is an opportunity for West Mauians and visitors to buy local and meet Maui farmers, most of them farm owners."

The market will feature West Maui farms, including Ho'opono Farm, SimpliFresh, NapiliFlo, The Neighborhood Farm, and MauiGrown Coffee, as well as farmers from Hana, Kula and Haiku.

In addition, the November market will welcome Melanie Boudar, chocolatier and owner of a cacao farm in Haiku called Manawai Farms. Boudar will be present with gourmet chocolates to share information about her new ag tourism operation that will officially open to the general public in 2014.

All products offered for sale at the market are "Grown on Maui." Local farmers, food producers and chefs will demonstrate uses for their wares and answer questions.

The market brings together the resort and agricultural communities and highlights the important role both play in Maui's economy.

"We're proud to collaborate with Kaanapali Beach Resort to present the Grown on Maui Market," said Warren Watanabe, executive director of the Maui County Farm Bureau.

"The market is the best way to meet farmers, learn about Maui agriculture, and buy produce, flowers and value-added agricultural products."

Whalers Village extends free parking from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. with validation obtained at the market.
