LAHAINA - LahainaTown Action Committee at the Lahaina Second Friday event on June 14 awarded the Lahaina Junior Golf Association a check for $3,875.
The check proceeds were raised in LahainaTown Action Committee's first annual Golf Classic that was held on Saturday, May 11, at the Kaanapali Royal Golf Course.
Jack Starr, assistant general manager of Kimo's restaurant and a board member of LahainaTown Action Committee (LAC), said, "I want to thank the golfers who participated in this first charitable golf event.

"This is just the first of many annual LahainaTown Golf Classics," Starr added. "I hope our community will look for our next golf event in May 2014 and support this fun family activity that gives back to our community."
Lynn Donovan, LAC executive director, said, "I am thrilled to be able to award this check to Lahaina Junior Golf. I know they will do wonderful work in our community with this donation.
"I am pleased that the LahainaTown Action Committee is building additional events each year and giving back to the community. I want to applaud Kaanapali Royal Golf Course and our sponsors who donated to our silent auction and golf team prizes, our on-course food donations, and, of course, all the volunteers from Lahaina Junior Golf who made this possible."
