Cameron Center to host chamber ‘Business After Hours’ event

WAILUKU – As part of a series of events over the course of the year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its opening in 1973, the J. Walter Cameron Center will host the Maui Chamber of Commerce February “Business After Hours” event.

The event will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 95 Mahalani St. in Wailuku. The cost is $15 for chamber members and $25 for nonmember guests.

Register before Feb. 8 to receive a $5 discount. Call the Maui Chamber of Commerce at 244-0081 to register.

Csar Gaxiola, executive director of the Cameron Center, said, “This event is an excellent way to meet informally with Maui’s business community, strengthen our partnership with them and share the Cameron Center story of our four decades of service to the community.”

The Cameron Center is home to 15 resident social service agencies, including A Keiki’s Dream, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association of Hawaii, ARC of Maui County, Best Buddies International, Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Hawaii, Heritage Hall Inc., Hui No Ke Ola Pono Inc., Imua Family Services, Ka Lima O Maui, Maui Community Mental Health, Mediation Services of Maui, Mental Health Association of America, MEO Kahi Kamali’i, and the Pacific Cancer Foundation.

These agencies are estimated to provide services to as many as 30,000 people annually.

Cameron Center meeting facilities that are accessible to the public provide space to over 200 community organizations and businesses throughout the year and serve as many as 40,000 people annually.
