LAHAINA - Three more players have confirmed that they will play in the "Night of Shooting Stars" pro game on Saturday, June 9, at Lahaina Civic Center.
The latest roster additions are Rudy Gay and Jeremy Pargo of the Memphis Grizzlies, along with homegrown star Kyle Pape of the Hawaii Raiders.
Also confirmed are Isaiah Thomas of the Sacramento Kings, Nate Robinson of the Golden State Warriors, Corey Maggette of the Charlotte Bobcats, Kelenna Azubuike of the Dallas Mavericks, Patrick Ewing Jr. of the New Orleans Hornets, Anthony Tolliver of the Minnesota Timberwolves and European pros Derrick Low, Julian Sensley, Bill Amis and Bobby Nash.
"Night of Shooting Stars" will include a pre-game concert, two feature games, food and live entertainment at Lahaina Civic Center. The concert with popular Christian reggae band Christafari begins at 3 p.m.
A 5 p.m. novelty warm-up contest will spotlight celebrity all-stars - music, movie and media personalities, community leaders and athletes from other sports - against all-stars selected from the basketballMAUI Summer Camp program. Following that game, the pro all-stars will hit the court for a 6 p.m. match-up.
Admission for the basketball games is $10 in advance and $15 at the gate for all fans over seven years of age; there is no charge for keiki age seven and under. Advance tickets are available at various Maui Clothing Company outlets, specified Starbucks locations (visit www.nightofshootingstars.com) and Kihei Christian Bookstore.
Concert tickets can be obtained at Kihei Christian Bookstore and the following churches: Kumulani Chapel, Lahaina Baptist Church, Calvary Westside, Lahaina Christian, Waipuna Chapel, and Faith Family Maui.
There will be an onsite parking fee of $5. Fans who can't attend can see the feature game live for a fee at nightofshootingstars.com/watchlive/.KHON2 Sports Director Kanoa Leahey will provide play-by-play coverage.
