LAHAINA - Saturday, May 19, marked the 34th annual Spring Wahine Fishing Tournament hosted and sponsored by Lahaina Yacht Club.
Eleven boats participated in this year's event with 49 lady anglers aboard. The start was from Lahaina Harbor at 7 a.m.
The winning fish was a 170.3-pound marlin caught by angler Wendy Rose aboard Genesis. The skipper was Bob Schnoor, and the crew member was James Blanton.

"It was a great turnout for the Lahaina Yacht Club event that has become quite a tradition. We saw a lot of people having a lot of fun out there," said Philip Link, tournament director and LYC rear commodore of power.
An awards banquet followed the tournament. All participants were invited for a buffet meal, and all anglers were presented with door prizes donated by local merchants.
