KAANAPALI — Maui Humane Society’s second annual “Barktoberfest” will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa.

This fabulous evening under the stars on the Sheraton’s Ocean Lawn will feature great grinds, tasty beer from Maui Brewing Company and an awesome lineup of live music: Ahumanu, Lisa Owen and the Village Musicians, Gerit Williams, Sebrina Barron, and Maui’s favorite jam band, Haiku Hillbillys.

Maui Humane Society (MHS) will have a keiki activity tent for kids of all ages with games, crafts and other fun activities, and the Sheraton’s staff will cook up gourmet German and island grinds to tantalize the pallet.

MHS adoptable pets will not be in attendance, but this event is all for them. All of the proceeds from “Barktoberfest” will provide safe and nurturing shelter, food, and veterinary care for animals in need, help reunite lost pets with their families and help orphans find loving, forever homes.

Tickets this year are priced for all to attend! Full event tickets (from 5:30 to 10 p.m.) are $85 for adults and $30 for children ages 7-15 years. This includes a full buffet until 7 p.m. and two drink tickets.

General admission tickets from 7 to 10 p.m. are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 7-15. Food and beverages will be available for purchase; keiki six years and under will be admitted free.

The public can purchase tickets at MHS or West Maui Pet Supply in Lahaina, online at www.MauiHumaneSociety.org or by calling (808) 877-3680, extension 32.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is offering a special rate on guest rooms for those who would like to stay overnight at the resort. The rate is $139 plus tax and resort fee. Guests interested in making room reservations should contact the resort directly at (808) 661-0031.

Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $5,000 and offer great benefits to those participating. Barktoberfest sponsors include the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Maui Brewing Company, Bounty Music, KAOI Radio Group, Village Audio & Lighting, Whalers Realty and Expeditions.

For more information on “Barktoberfest” opportunities, call (808) 877-3680, extension 32, or visit www.MauiHumaneSociety.org.
