Cartwright named to Hawaii’s Top 100 Realtors List for fourth time

By Staff | May 19, 2011

Robert J. Cartwright is principal broker and owner of Whalers Realty.

In the midst of celebrating 35 successful years in the Real Estate business, Whalers Realty has yet another landmark of success to add to an already celebratory 2011.

Robert J. Cartwright, principal broker and owner, was recently named to the prestigious Hawaii’s Top 100 Realtors List published annually by Hawaii Business Magazine.

Collectively, this elite group is involved in over 40 percent of Hawaii’s real estate volume each year.

This exclusive group of Realtors is ranked by dollar volume in closed transactions. Out of the five years that the Hawaii’s Top 100 Realtors list has been in existence, this marks the fourth year that Cartwright has closed the requisite dollar volume to make the list.

Excluding developer and vacant land sales, Cartwright ranked first in unit sales volume for the island of Maui with a total of 70 closed transactions in 2010. His total dollar volume was $39,804,488, which ranks him third in overall dollar sales volume for the Valley Isle.

“Although it is an honor to be recognized by your peers like this, I could not have accomplished this level of success without the love of my wife, Tess; the loyalty of our friends and clients; our dedicated support staff, Tori, Tara, Didi and Chris; and the assistance and cooperation provided to me by my fellow sales associates at Whalers Realty; and for that matter the entire membership of the Realtors Association of Maui,” said Cartwright. “I share this honor with all of them.”

Cartwright obtained his Real Estate salesperson’s license in 1976 and began his career with Whalers Realty in 1982. He quickly became the company’s top producing agent and, along with his wife, Tess, purchased the company in December of 1993. Since their acquisition of the company, Whalers Realty has consistently ranked as one of the top producing real estate brokerage firms in the State of Hawaii.

Since the inaugural Hawaii’s Top 100 Realtors program in 2006, it has become one of the signature issues for Hawaii Business Magazine. The analysis of sales data for this Hawaii’s Top 100 Realtor study was compiled from three different MLS entities: the Honolulu Board of Realtors, the Realtors Association of Maui, and the Hawaii Information Service for Kauai and Big Island. The study only includes resale transactions of single-family homes and condominiums.

An awards presentation and reception honoring the Top 100 Realtors of Hawaii will be held on May 27, 2011 at the Kahala Hotel and Resort on Oahu.
