Fall Festival of Wines to benefit Maui Youth and Family Services

By Staff | Nov 4, 2010

The Fall Festival of Wines is coordinated by the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa’s Fall Interns.

KAANAPALI — StarWish, a charity fund-raising effort of the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, announced that the third annual Fall Festival of Wines to benefit Maui Youth and Family Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the resort’s Coral Reef Room.

A variety of red and white wine tasting stations will be arranged with elegant hors d’oeuvres and live music. This year will also feature a station with local beers from Maui Brewing Company.

All of the wines and food were donated from local vendors, including Better Brands, Southern Wines and Spirits and Maui Brewing Company.

Selling for $40 per person, tickets can be purchased online by visiting www.sheraton-maui.com/dining/fallwines. Guests can also make reservations by calling 662-8053 and paying with cash or check at the door. Parking will be available onsite for the discounted rate of $1 per hour.

Each guest of the Fall Festival of Wines will receive a souvenir wine glass and be entered to win great door prizes.

There will also be a silent auction. Items include two-night stays at the Sheraton Keauhou, Sheraton San Diego and Sheraton Maui, as well as certificates for dining and activities.

This is the second time the event will benefit Maui Youth and Family Services. Last year, the benefit raised $2,000 for the charity.

The Fall Festival of Wines is primarily organized by the resort’s Fall Interns as a community service project.

Food & Beverage Intern Samantha Clavey said, “This event has been a lot of fun to plan, and I am very excited to see how everything turns out. Each year, the Fall Festival of Wines gets bigger and better, so I’m sure this year will be no exception. Maui Youth and Family Services is a great cause, and I’m happy we are able to help.”

The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is offering a special kama’aina room rate for the evening of the event: $169 plus tax and resort fee. To reserve a room, call (808) 921-4646 and ask for rate KAMVIP.
