KAANAPALI — “Cirque Polynesia,” a unique and exclusive event at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, promises nonstop action with death-defying aerial acrobatics, aerial illusions, masters of balance and contortionists.
This 75-minute show at the resort’s 600-seat Monarchy Ballroom features performing artists from Hawaii, Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan and Moldova (Eastern Europe).
As a special offer, until Aug. 31, children under the age of 12 can enjoy the dynamic show for free.
The performers include Lyric, a member of the Wellenda Family. Daughter Lyric dangles by one ankle while graciously twirling her mother, Rietta, who is secured only by a neck harness high above the audience.
Amanda Bautista, 19, a fifth-generation Brazilian contortionist, defies the limits of what the human body is capable of.
Simon Arestov, 24, performs a nerve-racking balancing act known as the “Rolla Bolla” — which he has practiced since the age of 13 — on razor thin platforms placed on rolling objects, while he stacks the platforms to dizzying heights.
With shows running six days a week, the performance begins at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior, and the open seating forum allows families to come early to find the best seats available.
Show-only tickets for adults start at $62 per person. The Cirque Polynesia Dinner and Show Package allows guests to dine at the resort’s chic pool side restaurant, Umalu, for $129 per person, including glass of wine or beer. VIP tickets are also available in the first five rows, starting at $75 for adults and $52.50 for children.
