Got Choice? Drink Craft at the Maui Brewers Festival! There’s no better place to sample some of the best craft beers in the nation than here on the island during Maui Brewers Festival. Maui Arts & Cultural Center, Maui Brewing Co. and Hawaii Nui Brewing have joined formidable forces to present the 3rd annual festival on Saturday, May 14 from 3 to 7 pm. This MACC fundraiser takes place in the new Yokouchi Pavilion and A&B Amphitheater lawn with net proceeds benefiting The Center’s arts and educational programs for students, seniors and the Maui community.  Showcasing the best craft beers made in Hawaii, California, Oregon, Colorado and beyond, Maui Brewers Festival will feature 28 breweries, including brewers new to the event, like Anacapa, Bear Republic, Big Island Brewhaus and Redstone Meadery, in addition to your favorites from years past. Get ready to enjoy a leisurely day of sampling a colorful array of micro-brewed beers and imports along with ‘ono island food and refreshing desserts from local purveyors such as 808 Bistro, Alexander’s Fish, Aloha Events Catering, Cake Bakery, Famous Dave’s, Flatbread & Company, Food for the Soul, Fred’s Mexican Cafe, Maui Brewing Co. Brew Pub, Maui Catering (Brigit & Bernard’s), Maui Culinary Academy, Maui Tacos, Whole Foods, Who Cut the Cheese, Wow-Wee Maui’s Grill and Zia Maria Gelato.  Entering the venue, you’ll receive a commemorative beer glass from which to sample eight 4-ounce pours of beer. Food and beer booths are arranged around the arena for sampling and dining on unlimited food; bottled water and soft drinks are available, too. Vote for your favorite beer and best pupu. On stage, the entertainment lineup includes some of Maui’s favorite bands and singers like Kanekoa with Vince Esquire. There will also be logo merchandise for sale from the festival and breweries as well as prize giveaways throughout the day. General admission price is $45 per adult, which includes brew sampling, a beer glass, pupu and desserts, and event parking in the MACC lot. The $75 Happy Hour package features reserved parking, early entry at 2 p.m. for a reception with the brewmasters, and a special gift in addition to general admission. Maui Brewers Festival is for adults aged 21 years and over only. For tickets, call the MACC Box Office at 242-SHOW or visit MauiArts.org.
